Originally bought the HP Mini 311 (with Atom 270 + Ion) but returned it the next day. Instead bought the new Gateway ec14d07U which is same as Acer 1810TZ with CULV SU4100, except adds optical DVD burner and optical drive, 320GB HDD, 4G Ram. Acer must be using their gateway brand as guinea pig to see if consumers want/need an optical drive on a 11.6 Netbook. There are not too many reviews on the gateway yet, so I have been reading the Acer 1810TZ reviews to see if others agree that I bought a really great, leading edge machine. I find the build quality excellent, speed amazing. Watching HD movies, U=tube etc. with no problem. Unlike the Acer, the Gateway touchpad is slightly indented and easy to find by feel in dim light. Battery life is as advertised, 6-8 hours depending on usage.
